The world's first practical double-action percussion revolver, and the primary competitor to Colt in Britain and the British Empire during the 1850s. Self-cocking in pure DA mode — unlike the Colt SAA which required thumb-cocking. Used by British officers throughout the Crimean War (1853-56) and Indian Rebellion (1857).
