The 92FS Vertec is a variant developed to address the 92FS's perceived grip thickness by redesigning the grip frame with a vertical front strap and slimmer profile. The magazine well is also redesigned. The Vertec proved controversial — some shooters preferred it while others found the standard frame adequate. It was discontinued in favor of the 92X Centurion series.
