The improved version of Bergmann's service pistol design, adopted by Denmark and Spain. The 9mm Bergmann-Bayard cartridge (also called 9mm Largo) was more powerful than 9mm Parabellum and remained the Spanish service cartridge until the 1980s. Denmark adopted it as the M1910 and issued it through WWII. A locked-breech design with good reliability, if somewhat unusual in operation.
