The Colt Official Police .22 LR was a target-configuration version of the Official Police service revolver, chambered in .22 LR for training and small-bore competition. It shared the same medium-frame construction as the .38 Special Official Police but offered the economy of rimfire ammunition for practice. It was popular with law enforcement agencies for training and with target shooters for small-bore competition.
