The CZ 455 Varmint is the heavy-barrel predecessor to the 457 Varmint — a Turkish walnut stock with varmint-profile fore-end and a heavy cold-hammer-forged barrel. The 455 Varmint established the market position that the 457 Varmint now occupies. Discontinued in 2019 with the introduction of the 457, the 455 Varmint remains a shooter's rifle with identical performance to its successor at lower used-market prices.
