The Long Range Hunter was designed around the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner cartridge developed by Layne Simpson, one of the few rifles specifically engineered for the cartridge. The 26-inch heavy barrel is required to develop full velocity from the overbore cartridge, and the adjustable trigger and bedded stock make this one of the most accurate factory long-range hunting rifles of its era.
