The Enfield No. 2 Mk I was the British service revolver adopted to replace the Webley, chambered in .38 S&W (not .38 Special) with a 200-grain bullet. The Mk I* variant (1938) removed the hammer spur to prevent snagging in tank and armored vehicle hatches — making it double-action only. It served extensively through WWII as the standard British Commonwealth revolver alongside remaining Webleys. Over 270,000 were made.
