The L9A1 is the British military designation for the FN Browning Hi-Power, adopted by the British Army in 1954 to replace the Webley revolver. Manufactured by FN Herstal in Belgium and assembled partly by Inglis in Canada, it served as the standard British Army sidearm for over 50 years through the Falklands, Gulf War, and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
