The FN MAG is the definitive Western general-purpose machine gun, adopted by over 80 countries. Chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, it uses a gas-operated, tilting-bolt system derived from the Browning Automatic Rifle. The MAG fires from a disintegrating linked belt and can be fired from bipod or on a sustained-fire tripod. Adopted by the US as the M240 and by the UK as the L7A2.
