The Frommer Stop was a Hungarian military service pistol, an unusual design using a long-recoil action in a pistol chambered for the relatively mild .32 ACP cartridge. It was adopted by the Austro-Hungarian Army for issue to rear-echelon troops, cavalry, and police. The long-recoil system where barrel and slide travel the full length of the cartridge together before unlocking is mechanically complex for the cartridge's modest power. The Frommer Stop is a mechanically interesting collector curiosity.
