The Israeli Galil ARM (Assault Rifle/Machine gun) is the Israeli Defense Force's standard rifle from 1973 through the 1990s. Semi-automatic versions were imported to the US in limited quantities before the import ban. The Galil is an improved AK design developed after Israel studied Finnish Valmet rifles, adding a folding stock, built-in bottle opener (reportedly for soldiers who otherwise broke their sights opening bottles), and a bipod.
