The Gepard M1 is a single-shot bolt-action anti-materiel rifle chambered in the Soviet 12.7x108mm heavy machine gun cartridge, developed in Hungary during the final years of the Cold War. It was the first in the Gepard series and established the basic ergonomic formula of a side-folding bipod, muzzle brake, and integral carrying handle that the series would use throughout its development. The M1 provided Warsaw Pact forces with a single-shot anti-materiel capability that could be carried by a single soldier.
