The HK45 is a full-size polymer-framed .45 ACP pistol developed as HK's entry in the US Joint Combat Pistol program, the project that sought to replace the M9 Beretta. It features a modified Browning-type tilting-barrel operating system and a comfortable ergonomic grip with multiple backstrap options. While the JCP program was cancelled, the HK45 remains in production.
