The P7M8 is the refined and most commonly encountered variant of the HK P7 family, replacing the earlier P7PSP. It incorporates an ambidextrous magazine release at the base of the trigger guard, heat shield to address the barrel heat issue, and improved ergonomics. The M8 designation indicates the 8-round single-stack magazine. Adopted by numerous European police forces.
