The L85A2 is the HK-rebuilt version of the SA80, with approximately 80 design changes to address the catastrophic reliability failures of the original L85A1. HK redesigned the bolt carrier group, extractor, magazine, and numerous other components. The L85A2 transformed the SA80 into a reliable and accurate service weapon. All British Army L85A1 rifles were rebuilt to A2 standard.
