The H&K P7 PSP (Polizei Selbstlade Pistole) is one of the most technically innovative handguns ever produced, featuring a gas-retarded blowback action where a piston under the barrel slows the bolt using propellant gas — allowing a fixed barrel, exceptional accuracy, and a cocking mechanism built into the front grip strap. Squeezing the grip cocks the striker; releasing decocks it. The West German police tested it extensively and selected it as one of the approved service pistols.
