The Mini Uzi is a scaled-down version of the original Uzi, approximately 20 percent smaller in all dimensions. Imported to the US as a semi-automatic pistol configuration before the 1989 ban. The blowback mechanism is identical in principle to the full-size Uzi. Used by Israeli plainclothes security and covert operations units who needed a more concealable Uzi-class weapon.
