The commercial success of Mannlicher's series of semi-automatic pistols, the M1905 refined earlier designs with a blowback mechanism and a charger-loaded fixed magazine. Chambered in 7.63mm Mannlicher (similar to but not identical with 7.63mm Mauser). Adopted by Argentine police and used commercially throughout Europe. Less powerful than contemporary Luger or Mauser pistols but reliable and well-made.
