The Mechtech CCU for 1911 frames converts a standard Government-pattern 1911 lower into a 16.25-inch carbine in .45 ACP. The 1911 lower receiver — trigger group, grip, and magazine — remain in use, only the slide and barrel are replaced by the CCU upper. The original CCU configuration before the Glock adapters were added.
