The Remington 7400 (and predecessor 742/740 series) is the classic American gas-operated semi-automatic hunting rifle in .30-06 and other hunting cartridges. Produced for over 40 years, the 7400 uses a multi-lug rotating bolt and gas-operated action designed for reliability with hunting loads. Remington discontinued the 7400 in 2015 in favor of the updated 750 and then capacity constraints.
