The Ruger Bearcat is a small-frame single-action .22 LR revolver with a forged steel frame smaller than the Single-Six. Introduced in 1958, the Bearcat uses a simplified hammer-bar (in the New Model version) for safe carry. The compact 4-inch barrel and small frame make the Bearcat an excellent trail gun and youth revolver. The New Model Bearcat (1994-present) adds the transfer bar safety.
