A hammerless (shrouded) semi-automatic pistol that competed with the Colt 1911 in the US military pistol trials of 1907-1911. The rotating barrel locked breech design was innovative. Ultimately lost to the Colt 1911 but remained popular commercially. A distinctive 10-round magazine gave it higher capacity than most contemporaries. Widely used by European police forces and military officers.
