The Star Model B is a Spanish military pistol externally resembling the Colt 1911 but using a simplified operating system without a grip safety. Adopted by the Spanish military and exported to many nations, including Nationalist and Republican forces in the Spanish Civil War, it remained in production and service for decades and was the standard Spanish Army sidearm through much of the Cold War.
