The C9-A1 is the compact Steyr pistol with a shorter grip and reduced-capacity magazine compared to the M-series. The 3.6-inch barrel is shared with the M9 but the grip frame is trimmed for improved concealability. Discontinued in favor of the MF-series. The C-series represented Steyr's attempt to compete in the sub-compact carry market before the MF modular system rendered separate grip-length variants less necessary.
