The Steyr IWS 2000 is a semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle that uses a smoothbore barrel to fire fin-stabilized tungsten darts at extremely high velocity, achieving performance against light armor that no conventional small-bore system can match. The 15.2x169mm APFSDS round is capable of penetrating 40mm of rolled homogeneous armor at 1,000 meters. The IWS 2000 was discontinued after failing to secure military adoption despite its impressive technical capabilities.
