The M9-A1 is the first-generation compact Steyr M-series pistol preceding the MF modular variants. Fixed grip geometry and the classic Steyr trapezoidal sight system. The 3.6-inch barrel and 15-round magazine made it a direct competitor to the Glock 19 in the compact service pistol market. Widely exported and still encountered in active service in several Central and Eastern European police forces.
