Austria-Hungary's service pistol of WWI, chambered in the proprietary 9mm Steyr cartridge. Loaded using a charger clip through the open action (similar to a rifle) rather than a detachable magazine. Strong, accurate, and reliable — but proprietary ammunition caused problems after WWI. Many were re-chambered to 9mm Parabellum by Germany in WWII and marked with a "P08" stamp on the slide.
