The Steyr SSG 69 is a precision bolt-action sniper rifle adopted by the Austrian Army and numerous law enforcement and special operations units worldwide. Its cold-hammer-forged barrel, rotating-head bolt, and synthetic stock were innovative at the time of introduction. The SSG 69 competed directly with the West German PSG-1 and British L96 in military sniper trials.
