The AS VAL (Avtomat Spetsialnyy Vintovka Snayperskaya) is a suppressed assault rifle/sniper rifle with an integral suppressor. The 7.9-inch barrel is short but the integral suppressor adds significant length. Firing subsonic 9x39mm SP-6 armor-piercing rounds, it is effective against body armor at 400 meters while remaining hearing-safe without additional suppression.
