Westley Richards produced bolt-action rifles in 470 NE for clients who wanted the stopping power of the most widely adopted double-rifle cartridge in a magazine platform. The 470 NE's rebated rim and long case require a significantly modified Mauser action, but Westley Richards' gunsmiths accomplished this adaptation successfully. These guns are extremely rare — almost all 470 NE rifles are doubles — and represent an unusual technical achievement.
