Westley Richards introduced the Droplock Over/Under shotgun in the early 20th century, applying the hand-detachable lock patent to an over-and-under configuration. The Droplock O/U's most distinctive feature is that each lock can be removed without disturbing the other, allowing single-lock servicing in the field. The 12-gauge remains the primary commission, suited to driven game and clay shooting at the highest level. Production numbers are extremely limited.
