The Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece was a target-tuned version of the K-frame .38 Special, adding an adjustable rear sight to the duty-revolver formula. It became the preferred competition and accuracy revolver for law enforcement officers and target shooters through the 1950s–1980s. Air Force officers were issued the Model 15 as a standard sidearm.
