Springfield Armory 1911-A1 45 ACP Post-War

Post-WWII Springfield Armory (Rock Island Arsenal successor) continued producing M1911A1 pistols for US military use through the 1960s and early 1970s. These post-war production guns are distinguished from WWII production by date codes and inspector stamps. They served in Korea, Vietnam, and throughout the Cold War until the M9 Beretta adoption in 1985. A bridge between the WWII-era 1911A1 and the modern 1911 commercial market.
