Remington's 2007 SAAMI-standardized varmint cartridge, formed by necking the .221 Fireball case down to .17 caliber. The fastest commercial .17-caliber centerfire, pushing a 20-grain bullet past 4,000 fps from a 24-inch barrel. Extremely flat trajectory and minimal recoil make it effective for prairie dogs and other small varmints at long range.
