History: The Evans Repeating Rifle Company of Maine created this proprietary cartridge for their unique 34-round rotary magazine repeating rifle of the 1870s. Warren Evans' rifle held more rounds than any contemporary design. The company went bankrupt in 1879, making original Evans rifles and ammunition rare collectors' items.
