History
Introduced in 1994 by Canyon Cartridge Corp as a dangerous-game alternative to the .577 Tyrannosaur. The .585 Nyati fires the same .585-diameter bullet as .600 Nitro Express in a compact bolt-action package. Extremely limited production — ammunition and brass must be sourced from specialty suppliers. The cartridge never achieved commercial traction beyond a small community of dedicated African hunters.
