Blown-out version of the 6mm BR Norma with a sharper shoulder for improved case capacity; popular in F-Class long-range and benchrest competition.
Type: Rifle
Introduced: 2000, United States
Parent case: 6mm BR Norma (blown out)
Standardization: Proprietary
Bullet diameter: 0.243" (6.17 mm)
Rim type: Rimless
Primer: Boxer Small Rifle
Production status: Active
Also known as: 6 BRX · 6mm BR Xtreme · 6BRX
History: The 6mm BRX takes the inherently accurate 6mm BR case and blows it out with a sharper shoulder for approximately 3–5% more case capacity. The result is slightly higher velocity with the same barrel life characteristics as the parent case, making it attractive for F-Class Open and long-range benchrest competitors who want to push 105–115 grain 6mm bullets at higher velocity.
