History: Developed in 2022 as the 6 GT case was already established for reliable feeding in bolt guns and AR-10 platforms, the 7mm GT necks up to take advantage of the excellent high-BC 7mm bullets available for long-range competition. It is gaining traction in the PRS and ELR communities as an alternative to the 7mm PRC and 7mm Remington Magnum.
