Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) is a private Israeli firearms manufacturer spun off from IMI (Israel Military Industries) in 2005, when the Israeli government privatized its small arms division. IMI itself traces to 1933 as part of the pre-state Haganah defense infrastructure. IWI produces the Tavor, Galil, Jericho, and Negev platforms and exports to over 30 countries. IWI US, Inc. operates from Middletown, Pennsylvania for the American market.
