Arguably the most prestigious name in British gunmaking, founded by James Purdey in London in 1814. "A matched pair of Purdeys" is synonymous with the absolute pinnacle of side-by-side and over/under shotgun craft. Purdey has held the Royal Warrant continuously and supplied firearms to nearly every British monarch since George IV. Now owned by the Richemont Group (same parent as Cartier). Waiting list for bespoke guns runs multiple years.
