Mateba (Macchine Termo Balistiche) was an Italian firearms manufacturer founded in 1994 by Emilio Ghisoni in Pavia. Mateba is best known for the Autorevolver — the only production semi-automatic revolver in history. The Mateba 2006M fires from the bottom chamber of the cylinder rather than the top, lowering the bore axis to reduce muzzle rise. The cylinder and frame reciprocate rearward with each shot, rotating the cylinder for the next round semi-automatically. A handful of these extraordinary pistols were made; they are among the most distinctive and collectible revolvers ever manufactured. Mateba closed around 2005 when Ghisoni died.

Also recorded as Macchine Termo Balistiche, Mateba Arms.
