Military Armament Corporation (MAC) was an American firearms manufacturer founded in 1969 by Mitch WerBell III and Gordon Ingram in Powder Springs, Georgia. The company is best known for the MAC-10 and MAC-11 submachine guns designed by Gordon Ingram — compact, open-bolt, blowback-operated firearms chambered in .45 ACP, 9mm, and .380 ACP respectively. The MAC-10 gained notoriety in law enforcement circles and popular culture through the 1970s and 1980s. The original MAC company dissolved by the mid-1970s; production and trademarks passed through several successor companies including RPB Industries, SWD Inc., and Cobray. Masterpiece Arms (MPA) currently produces MAC-pattern semi-automatic pistols and carbines.
Also recorded as Ingram MAC.
