Japanese firearms manufacturer based in Nangoku City, Kochi Prefecture, that produces the entire commercial Browning firearm catalog and Winchester sporting arms for the American market. The relationship began in the 1960s when Browning outsourced Japanese manufacturing; today essentially every Browning and Winchester sporting long gun sold commercially — including the Winchester Model 70, Model 94, SXP, Model 101, and the complete Browning line of rifles and shotguns — is manufactured by Miroku. The craftsmanship quality is considered equal to or better than pre-outsourcing US production for most models. Miroku has produced over-unders for the Belgian, American, and Japanese markets for six decades. The Citori over/under, considered among the best-value O/Us in the world, is a Miroku product sold under the Browning name.
Also recorded as Miroku, B.C. Miroku, Miroku Firearms Mfg..
