Overview
Röhm GmbH is a German company founded in 1948 in Sontheim an der Brenz, primarily a tool manufacturer that also produced inexpensive revolvers under the RG designation. RG revolvers (imported to the US by RG Industries of Miami) were extremely cheap, low-quality firearms that became synonymous with the "Saturday Night Special" debate. The RG-14 in .22 LR and RG-38 in .38 Special were widely sold in the US in the 1960s-1980s. An RG-14 revolver was used in the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan in 1981. Rohm's firearms division has since ceased, though the company continues as a cutting tools manufacturer.
