Thompson/Center and Hornady's 2007 SAAMI-standardized short-action cartridge, designed to match .30-06 Springfield performance from a 2.260-inch OAL that fits short-action magazines. Built for the T/C Icon bolt-action rifle using Hornady's SST bullets at factory spec, it was technically successful and SAAMI-approved but commercially failed when Thompson/Center changed ownership and dropped the proprietary platforms that gave it its reason to exist.
