History: Introduced by Guncrafter Industries in 2004, the .50 GI was designed to be the most powerful cartridge that could fit in a standard 1911 frame. It uses a rebated rim the same diameter as the .45 ACP for compatibility with standard 1911 magazines, while the larger .50 caliber bore delivers significantly more energy than the .45 ACP.
