History: The .25-25 Stevens was developed for the Stevens single-shot falling-block action and later chambered in the Winchester Model 1885 High Wall. A small-bore, relatively light-recoiling cartridge for its era, it was used for small game and target shooting and represents the range of cartridges Stevens developed for their single-shot action rifles.
