Introduced by Remington in 1906 for the Model 8 semi-automatic rifle. Like the .25 and .32 Remington, it was designed with a rimless case for reliable auto-loading function. Competed with .30-30 Winchester but was limited to Remington's own rifles. Discontinued when the Model 14 and 8 were no longer produced.
