The 6x47mm Lapua is a precision target cartridge created by necking down the 6.5x47mm Lapua case to accept 6mm (.243") bullets. It bridges the gap between the mild 6mm Creedmoor and the larger 6mm Norma BR, offering excellent barrel life, low recoil, and the ability to seat high-BC 6mm bullets — particularly 105-115gr VLDs — at appropriate depths. The small rifle primer contributes to consistent ignition and reduced extreme spread in precision shooting.
