Colt Colt Detective Special .38 Special 2-inch

The Colt Detective Special was the first short-barrel double-action revolver specifically designed for plainclothes detective and undercover use. Its 2-inch barrel and compact D-frame made it concealable under a jacket while retaining a 6-round cylinder. Used extensively by FBI agents, plainclothes police, and military CID throughout the Cold War era.
